CCNA Security Featuring Tom Carpenter

Yesterday afternoon, Tom Carpenter arrived to our production studio in Salt Lake City, Utah to film LearnKey’s CCNA Security training. If there’s anybody who knows his stuff, it’s Tom and we are thrilled that he’s here!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Cisco Certified Network Assistance certification track, here’s a quick recap:

The CCNA certification track can be broken down into four different tracks.

The first track is the standard Cisco Certified Network Associate or CCNA. LearnKey already has the courses ICND1 and ICND2 that guide you to this certification

Second, we have the Cisco Certified Network Associate Voice or CCNA Voice. LearnKey offers the Implementing VoIP course which trains and prepares you for the 640-460 IIUC exam.

The third track is the Cisco Certified Network Associate Wireless or CCNA Wireless. Again, Learnkey offers the course Implementing Unified Wireless Networks which prepares for exam 640-721 IUWNE.

Lastly, we have Cisco Certified Network Associate Security, also known as CCNA Security. This is the course we’re filming with Tom throughout this week. This course not only trains and prepares you for exam 640-553 IINS but it also validates associate-level knowledge and skills required to secure Cisco networks.

With a CCNA Security certification, a network professional will learn the skills on Cisco routers required to develop a security infrastructure, recognize threats and vulnerabilities to networks, and mitigate security threats. The CCNA Security curriculum emphasizes core security technologies, installation, troubleshooting and monitoring of network devices to maintain integrity, confidentiality and availability of data and devices, and competency in the technologies that Cisco uses in its security structure.

So there you have it.  If you’re interested in a rapid path to specialization in network security or if you’re hoping to enhance your already established career with the most current knowledge of network security, CCNA Security is the way to go.
