Excel 2010- Michael Meskers
As I type this entry, Author and Trainer Michael Meskers is in our production studio wrapping up this week’s filming of LearnKey’s Excel 2010 training.
I’ve been popping in and out of the shoot this past week and can’t tell you how eager I am for this product to be released (I’m going to be taking the training myself). Not only has Michael been exciting and interesting to watch and listen to, he does an incredible job of teaching everything, and I mean everything, there is to know about Excel.
During a quick break of the filming today, I ran back into the control room and asked Michael to give us (fellow blog readers) a brief thought on the new Excel 2010. Here’s what he had to say…
“In Excel 2003 we had greatly expanded a lot of the detail included in the course. In Excel 2007, it was a major overhaul in terms of the interface. So, we had to focus a lot on that, we added a few more formulas that we hadn’t had before, and we also greatly expanded the conditional formatting section. In Excel 2010, the interface has been made just a little simpler and yet overall the capabilities have been enhanced- enabling us to put in more formulas and put a VBA section back in.”-Michael Meskers
Throughout this training, we will be covering all of the newest features of Excel 2010. Here are a few specific topics to watch for:
- Backstage – this is the replacement of the “Office” Button. From inside Backstage you can share, save, open, and close new and existing documents.
- Sparklines- this allows you to have graphical historical data right on the same row as your data.
Overall it’s been a great week here at the LearnKey production studio. Michael has done a fantastic job and you should all be looking forward to the release of LearnKey’s Excel 2010 training.
