On January 12, 2010, LearnKey and ExamForce announced the formation of LearnForce Partners LLC. CompTIAs Certification Renewal Program

CompTIA recently announced plans to require a certification renewal program for individuals certified in A+, Network+, and/or Security+. Previously these three have been lifetime certifications, meaning for example the A+ certification I obtained in 2000 is still valid today. This “certified for life” has been challenged by a perception that certified individuals may not be up to date on the latest technology. Wireless technology for example has changed drastically in the past ten years.

The numbers above may seem cryptic to some, but those familiar with Microsoft’s Certification Exams will likely recognize the format.  This particular combination of numbers refers to the most recent Windows 7 exam. : TS Windows 7 Configuring.  This is the nuts and bolts.  How to install, deploy, and upgrade to Windows 7; how to use existing hardware to connect, maintain, recover and functionally use Windows 7 in a network environment, and how to check for compatibility in place upgraded hardware is required.  Useful information for anyone from a home network enthusiast, to a network admin, the certification itself and skills neccessary to use Windows 7 effectively are geared specifically towards IT professionals.

Getting America Back to work.

Despite the high unemployment rate in the United States, there are more than 450,000 IT job openings in the country.  If you look around carefully you may see that it’s not a matter of not enough jobs to go around, it is a matter of not enough qualified and trained individuals to fill the jobs that are.  Police, Medical Practitioners, Instructors, and as noted above IT jobs are going unfilled.
